So about me….
Here’s the stuff that makes me sound smart.
I received my Bachelors degree in Psychology in 1992, my Masters degree in Counseling in 1996, and my Licensed Professional Counselor license in 1999. I became a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in 2019. I began my counseling career at an outpatient substance abuse facility in 1999. I have subsequently worked in private practice, inpatient hospital settings, and with foster children.
Here’s some of the stuff that has made me wise.
Working as an Emergency Medical Technician and as an Investigator of Elder Abuse.
These careers have shown me the absolute worst that humanity has to offer. But it has also shown me the best, that resiliency and happiness can exist even in the hardest of times.
Traveling alone. Nationally and internationally, with no agenda or others to worry about. This was my greatest teacher about multiculturalism and people different from me. It has taught me about mindfulness and the simple joy of being.
Parenting. It’s not just a job, it’s an adventure. It’s the greatest teacher of patience ever. It also brought into my world new adventures with youth sports, dance teams, and FFA and 4H experiences.
And now, when I’m not working, I do yoga, bicycling, photography, reading, and travel. I draw on all my personal and clinical experiences to meet you where you are at.
